Hawkman is a winged vigilante who fights crime using a flight harness made from Nth metal and a mace.

There have been several different versions of the character, along with love interests and partners such as Hawkgirl.

His secret identity is Carter Hall, an archaeologist and museum curator who lives out his destiny as a reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian prince Khufu using magic weaponry. Katar Hol is another version who appeared during the Silver Age, an alien policeman from the planet Thanagar with access to advanced technology. The character has been involved with the Justice Society and Justice League.

鹰侠（Hawkman）是美国DC漫画旗下多位超级英雄使用过的称号，首次登场于《闪电侠漫画》（Flash Comics）第1期（1940年1月），由加德纳·福克斯和丹尼斯·内维尔联合创造。

在DC漫画出版史中曾有多位角色曾使用过鹰侠这一称号，其中最为人所熟知的鹰侠是卡特·霍尔（Carter Hall）和卡塔尔·霍尔（Katar Hol）。

DC在创作鹰侠后，对其设定多次修改。其中有：

1.埃及王子的转世；

2.外星警察；

3.二者并存；

4.后者是冒充者；

5.两位鹰侠被鹰神合体导致混乱；

6.混血儿；

7.二代鹰侠在一代鹰侠体内；

8.因至黑之夜导致无法转世；

新52延续外星警察设定。

而《重生》又带回了不断转世的初代鹰侠。

历任转世

第一位鹰侠胡夫和第一个鹰女翠阿雅经历了无数次转世，其中有：

1、沉默骑士（Silent Knight）布莱恩·肯特（Brian Kent），生于公元5世纪，爱人是Celia Penbrook；

2、Koenrad Von Grimm，14世纪德国一名铁匠之子；

3、16世纪英国殖民地弗吉尼亚的John Smith上尉；

4、夜鹰（Nighthawk）汉尼拔·霍克斯（Hannibal Hawkes），一名美国西部枪手，深爱着Cinnamon；

5、20世纪早期的侦探詹姆斯·怀特（James Wright），爱着Sheila Carr；

5、20世纪40年代，胡夫最近一次转世为考古学家卡特·霍尔（Carter Hall），并恢复记忆成为飞鹰侠。
